Straw pellets are best known as horse bedding, but a growing number of our truckloads go to farms and animal keepers using them for other animals.
Cattle and calves
In calf pens and cubicles pellets keep the lying area dry and reduce ammonia. They are typically spread as a base layer and topped with a thin layer of straw for comfort – using far less straw than a conventional bed.
Poultry
Dry litter is the key to healthy flocks. Pellets absorb quickly, stay loose when raked and keep dust low. They are used in broiler houses, layer barns and by hobby keepers alike.
Small animals and pets
Rabbits, guinea pigs, cats and rodents: straw pellets are a natural, compostable alternative to wood-based litters. Retailers sell our 15 and 16 kg bags for exactly this purpose – with their own private label if they wish.
