Straw pellets are a renewable, locally produced fuel. Before ordering a truckload for your boiler, here are the points worth checking.
Is your boiler suitable?
Straw is an agro-fuel: it has a higher ash content and a lower ash melting point than wood pellets. Boilers designed or approved for agro-pellets handle this well; standard wood-pellet boilers may not. Check with your boiler manufacturer or ask us for the fuel specification to compare.
Energy content
Straw pellets deliver a heating value in the same range as other biomass pellets, with low moisture thanks to the pressing process. Ask us for the current analysis of the batch.
Storage
Pellets must stay dry. Big bags of 500 or 1000 kg are convenient for boiler rooms and silos; 15–16 kg bags suit smaller installations.
Logistics
We deliver full truckloads (about 24 t) from our factories in Latvia and Lithuania to Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. One truck can combine bedding and heating pellets if you use both.
Sustainability
Straw is an annual by-product of grain farming. Using it as fuel is CO₂-neutral over its cycle and keeps the value chain local in the Baltic Sea region.
